The Flipside
By: Jake Bible
Narrated by: Andrew B. Wehrlen
This is an audible book I requested and the review is voluntary.
I loved the book so much I just had to get the audible and listen to compare it. I love this narrator and was completely thrilled with his performance. The tension, suspense, action, and science fiction came together so well! Dinosaurs can scare the heck out of me if done right, and Bible took me back in time and scared it out of me! The plot, characters, and excellent world building were tops! Add excellent narration and this was a real winner!

Prehistoric meets futuristic in exciting thriller

The Flipside by Jake Bible is one wild ride through time with dinosaurs, high tech cyborgs, time travel through time bubbles, and interesting characters. This book has such wonderful characters that I couldn't help but enjoy. I especially loved the friendly dinosaur raised "topside" (not in the time bubble worlds). The plot and world building was great also. Great job, hope there will be a book 2!

Oh look! Dinosaurs! How absolutely wonderful. I know - LET'S KILL THEM ALL.

I liked the premise of this book, and I usually like dino/human interaction books, but this just didn't do it for me.

The plot was like a dog's breakfast. The genre was an indecisive mix of chompy dino action, sci-fi, but mostly military thriller. It really needed to be just one of those. The result was - a book that was just too long, too confusing, too blokey, and definitely too unbelievable. Well...for me anyway. I was so disappointed that the dinos took a back seat, while macho, gun-toting types ponced about shooting everything in sight.

I like the idea of time bubbles, but everything else was blah.

Flipping

I couldn't make potheads or tails with this book and the language was just bad. I just skipped to the ending. This is the 2nd book I tried to read from this author and I doubt I will attempt another. Could not follow confusing storyline either. Glad it was on kindle unlimited.

4.25 out of 5 stars

I remember Jake Bible posting a rough sketch of what he thought the cover should look like (I tried to find it so I could share it with you) and it was basically a stick dino, a bubble, and a stick person. The cover art on this is gorgeous and I’ll tip my hat to whoever designed it. It’s a perfect depiction of Bible’s world.

The Flipside tells the story of a world where dinosaurs are real and time travel is possible but only in certain “time bubbles”. One company owns the rights to them in the US and is using it for tourism to “the flipside”. Tragedy strikes and a team is left on the other side for a year. When they were supposed to come back – we find out that things aren’t what they seem.

I’m familiar with Bible’s world building from his other books but this was really well thought out and beautifully written. I felt like I understood each person, place, and thing along with why they were there. I like when I don’t have to try hard to imagine the world that an author is trying to create.

The characters in this were also awesome. They were all strong in their own way and each provided some comic relief when you least expected it. I won’t go into describing or explaining any characters – just know that you are in for well developed and interesting ones.

Andrew B. Wehrlen did a fantastic job narrating this book (as he’s done with other Bible titles) – he gave each character their own voice without overacting each part. I found that listening to this made it immensely more enjoyable than reading it myself would have (I don’t have a lot of good voices for characters in my head).

Overall, I thought that The Flipside had it all. Jurassic Park elements (and even a reference to the movie), a futuristic setting, a “far in the past” setting, strong characters, time travel, and oh yeah, dinos. Definitely dinos.

Wow this one is a real winner. It has so many elements and they all work together weaving a great sci fi, action tale. Where to begin... So the author does a great job of blending the future and prehistoric elements together. I hate to admit this but before I began the audiobook I was comparing it to Jerassic Park but this is very different and great in its own way. The cast of characters are very likable and developed nicely. Their background stories do not take away from the action or mystery. The technology and descriptions of the landscapes were intense and vivid. I cannot stop admiring how well the future and past was blended together creating such a great world. I just loved everything about this audiobook. The narration was done so well. Subtle tone changes and pauses were used throughout this one and it added value to the story. Each character had a distinct voice and was easily distinguished from others. A perfect voice selection for this audiobook. Overall, just a wonderful listening experience and one I will not soon forget. I was provided a free copy of this audiobook in exchange for an honest review via Audiobook Boom. This in no way affected my opinion of this work.

I’m gonna have to give this 3 stars, only cause the writing was kinda redundant and drove me a little crazy but I really enjoyed the story. It took a little while to actually get into the story and care about the characters but I did so I’ll mark it a good read. Action packed with suspense done right. I’m new to the genre my first dinosaur book so I can’t say much to that but I got scared in spots and teary in others and that’s why I read :)

The narrator was great, I heard him also in Five roads to Texas and loved some of his sarcasm for some of those characters. Good pace and emotion when needed, I enjoyed both performances!

Good but something was missing plot-wise. Seems like upjump fanfic. The dialogue is especially choppy. Like there were way too many situations between the family that, by all rights, should have escalated directly into violence if the personalities are as they are being described. You just don't tell a raging narcissist billionaire to 'shut the f*ck up', even if you're their son. You don't tell a commando with daddy issues a damn thing and expect not to get chopped in the throat. In general, it was just mixy. Also the relationship with the reporter.. the back and forth and obviously trusting someone completely untrustworthy.. I don't know. I hope the series gets better because the basic sci fi premise is interesting.

Action, adventure, dinosaurs! All the Sci-Fi geekery my little nerd heart could desire! This book sweeps you into a whirlwind of action from the first page, and doesn’t spit you back out again until the last.

The premise of this book seemed an interesting one at first glance and that proved to be the case. While the world-building and the characters couldn't quite match up to the premise, the overall sum of the parts still resulted in a very enjoyable book with quite a cinematic, sci-fi action movie feel to it.

This narrator has often worked with this author and that familiarity with the author's style results in a strong performance that served to enhance the overall enjoyment of the book with a suitable range for the various characters.

Overall, an enjoyable listen in a world that has the potential for more if the author chooses to return to it in the future.

I liked the idea of this book more than the end result. Unfortunately, that mostly came from the narration. It was not my favorite for this book though it was much better after I spotted it up a bit. The story started out very interesting but faded towards the end. It wore on me for some reason. It is about time travel and dinosaurs. And it was mostly well written and plotted out. Guess it just wasn't my kind of thing, unfortunately.

3.5 stars.

Interesting concept and one that I've never come across before. There's quite a number of terminology I had to get used to in this book but overall a good read for anyone who likes dinosaurs.

Due to some unknown forces, there are bubbles all over Earth which flips (flipside, geddit?) and enters the world of the dinosaurs. Topside Industries operate a research command as well as an extremely lucrative tour business which brings tourists down to Flipside (Australians call it Dino-side which is so much easier honestly) and gives them a holiday vacation in the cretaceous period, resort-style. The timing of flips have been computed and the whole Topside Industries run on this clockwork until everything starts going haywire.

There isnt a singular focus on any character I felt, which made the whole book slightly detached. Some humour was also forced, and dialogue became too expository for me to enjoy. Its a nice book but I'm thankful its a standalone novel and not part of a series.

I really wanted to love The Flipside. It has a fun premise, but I thought it was often hard to follow and could have done with a little more world-building.

The sex scene in chapter 6 bugged me. There are no lewd details of the act itself, but I thought the dialogue was unrealistic and obviously written by a man (sorry).

"You want to go get drunk and screw?"
"He any good?"
"You smell like sex."

Do people actually talk like this?

Elvis, the anklyosaurus, was awesome, and now I want a pet dinosaur.

Andrew B. Wehrlen did a nice job narrating. I often have to speed up audiobooks because narrators read them so slowly and deliberately, but I was able to enjoy this one at the actual speed at which it was recorded, which was refreshing. The only improvement on the narration would have been longer pauses at the points where there were paragraph breaks. This may have helped with the confusion when the POV changed throughout a chapter.

Clearly a lot of people loved this book. I thought it was ok, but I wish I had also loved it.

This book was given to me for free at my request, and I provided this voluntary review.

Jake Bible and Andrew B. Wehrlen once again come together to create and produce a new post-apocalyptic action-thriller audiobook series where time bubbles around the globe permit people to journey back to prehistoric periods by simply entering them. These bubbles are soon developed as a way of profiting via tourism; but is it really a good thing? These are not your ordinary time traveling device, instead you are sent back to the period when dinosaurs roamed the earth and they are the ones at the top of the food chain. This familiar Audible duo have again created and brought to life new and exciting worlds, technology, and challenges in their book titled “The Flipside”. The book felt like a blending of Starship Troopers and Jurassic Park, and for me it worked. I liked the complex story, characters and world building, but I found the book lacking the normal amount of action Mr. Bible often includes in his Roak series. This does not mean it’s a bad book, not at all. Just that it is different from others he has written and I like the change. If you go into the book understanding this and/or if you are a fan of well-written and produced science fiction audiobooks, I recommend you give the book (and future series) listen.

As with most of Mr. Bible’s works I have listened too, this one opens with an action-packed scene along with many unanswered questions. This quickly brings the listener into the story and hooks them from the start. It made me think of a futuristic opening like that found in the movie “Saving Private Ryan”. It was quite powerful and impactful for me as the story began to unfold and I became aware of what was happening. I liked the suspense and mystery Bible creates in this story. Although this is not a fantasy tale, we are shown many new and different creatures which can only be described as something resembling a flying dragon; who has its own stash of treasure. I was a bit confused to see the book classified in the “Post-Apocalyptic” genre instead of “Military Science Fiction”. However, this may be the final direction the author intends to go with the series and this is only the first book setting up the scenario.

Because the story mostly focuses on a team of military people and a few scientists, there is quite a bit of graphic violence and over-the-top mean of people dying. Again, this is a Jake Bible book need I say more? Not only do we get a view into the needs of protecting these time travel bubbles from hostiles, we also are made aware of current dramatic and cataclysmic world events such as major earthquakes, etc. This may be some of the building of the post-apocalyptic theme. With all the action and events happening, I do have to say that Mr. Bible is able to weave in times of intense emotion. There are twists, turn, lives saved, and lives lost. I liked that there were elements that made me feel a part of the story as I cared about most of the characters he created. There were not always highs and lows, but also a fair amount of humor and surprise along the way. A pet dinosaur called Elvis, multiple pokes, jabs, and zings thrown around between the party members and much more.

Not only do we have the military parts of the story, but I also liked how Mr. Bible included and even raised a few questions around the science of time travel. Is there really a concept of a time travel paradox, or was that resolved by science in some way? You will have to read the story to find out. Although this story takes place in 2046, it did not seem otherly from what we know today apart from some advanced tech and knowledge. Much of the geopolitical facets of our world we know today also are a part of this futuristic Earth. At times I felt like I was dropped into a Mass Effect game that was combined with bits of Jumanji, and it worked well.

If we turn out attention to the narration performed by Andrew B. Wehrlen, I have listened to a number of his audiobook works and all of them were nothing less than what I would consider the highest of quality and professionally produced books I have listened too. His voice alone is a pleasure to listen too, and he is able to add the necessary inflection making the story feel like you are listening to a movie production; only with your eyes closed. This book is no exception. The audio was clean of any defects or artifacts, and the voicing of the many characters was done expertly. If I had one critique, this story seemed to be read a bit faster than his other pieces I have listened too. It was not a bad thing unless you are one who likes listening to audiobooks at a slightly faster rate than normal (1x).

For parents and younger readers, I would say this book is only intended for mature audiences. It is quite graphic regarding scenes of violence and the use of vulgar language is what one might expect when the various members of the book banter between each other along the way. If you are a younger reader or someone easily offended by the above, I recommend you pick up a book other than this one to listen too.

In summary, if you enjoy unique stories involving science fiction, time travel, war, and creatures with big teeth that can tear you to pieces, I believe you will enjoy this new book written by Jake Bible. Note, this book is only one in what appears will be a series of books. A number of the story plots conclude, but a good amount of them are left to be answered in the next book; not yet available in audiobook format.

If you love books with Dinosaurs eating people, if you liked any of the Jurassic Park series, or Primeval, or Peter Cawdron’s Maelstrom series, then you will love this.
Somewhere along the line, bubbles started to turn up, they turn, taking what is on this side, to the other side, or flipside, which happens to be back in the age of the dinosaurs. There are lots of them all over the world.
Now some clever person decided that it would be a great idea to set up a theme park on top of one of them, so that when this bubble flips, which it does at a regular time frame, you could make an instant tourist attraction, taking tourists to the other side, dropping them back millions of years ago so they can go and see Dinosaurs in what is a relatively safe environment.
Ummm – Has anyone ever seen what happens when you try and set up a theme park with dinosaurs? Did anyone of these people go and rent a copy of Jurassic Park on Netflix? No… Oh, Ok, well that explains the blood, the screaming, and oh yeh, a really really fun story – because as we all know, when you mix humans and dinosaurs, people get eaten – otherwise, what is the point in reading in the book??? Sorry, is that wrong to say that *GRIN*
No really, there is an accident, the flipside goes wrong, people go missing, it all goes bad, a few make it back, screaming, tearing, blood, arrgh, arrgh, we all know how it goes. But that was in the past. We now come to our story, a year later, where they are trying to still work it out, and with the timing of the bubbles, given it is a year later, they know that it will flip, so they are ready for it. But it goes horribly wrong – again.
And this is where they real story starts.
This is where our specialist team that was sent to find out what happened the first time around are actually caught in a storm of chaos as it all goes wrong, as the ‘flips’ are all wrong. I don’t want to give too much away, but there are reasons for the ‘flips’ going wrong, and with the team on the other side having limited time to survive and try and get back. The team is led by the boss of the organisation Tressa, who inherited running it after the disaster last time from head of security Trevon (Trey), Cash, who has specialised knee braces after the incident, but was left hanging as the scapegoat, and their ‘Businessman’ Father, who is just a cut-throat money man, Thompson.
There is a camera crew caught up in it with a famous TV presenter Barbara, and Trey’s old 2nd in command, Mandy is now the Security Chief. All of them end up flipside, and it is quickly left up to Trey to save lives.
This is a unique twist on the Jurassic Park style concept, but at the end of the day, it is Dinosaur vs Man. Jake Bible does not delve deep into a lot of character writing, but he gives you enough to get by. These stories are about full on, hold onto your seat, thrill ride, flip the page, no one is safe, action packed carnage. And no one does it better than Bible. These are just full on fun rides, like a roller coaster from hell, where you are lucky to even get on the ride, let alone survive the actual twists and turns to get off. If you do get off,
Do not expect great powerful deep and meaningful dialogue (I think there is actually a line of ‘if the RV is a rockin, don’t come a knockin’), but that is not what this is about. You read these books for the action, and to see how many are left at the end. And this book does not disappoint. It is brilliant and a lot of fun.
As I said, if you love watching Dinosaurs eat people (who doesn’t right? I mean they keep making Jurassic Park movies!!), you will love this book!!

( Format : audiobook )
"Is anyone sure of anything any more?"
Thirty years before, the first bubble appeared in Wyoming, then others followed worldwide. Some were enormous, up to 100 miles across. At first there was chaos as, within, the earth had turned over revealing a prehistoric scene straight out of Conan Doyle's Lost World. A defensive wall was built around to contain the dinosaurs and soon Topside Industries was founded, a huge money making concern offering tourism possibilities. Although there were inherent dangers in visiting so dangerous a past, Topside had a sterling safety record - until it all went wrong.
Every year, regular as clockwork, the areas would turn, alternating between the current scenery and that of the long distant past, the topside becoming the flip side. Every year, precisely predictable until, thirty years after the that first event, the turn was early, trapping some on the flip side for another year. And when the time came again for the next turn ...

With his usual ability to completely draw a reader into his often crazily immaginative worlds, Jake Bible wastes no time in plunging straight into the action with vividly scary pictures of people trapped in the experience of terror. Then the story itself is developed, the major characters introduced and given personalities and life, then all is once again plunged into almost non stop action until the end. And what amazing action, with unique situations to grip and hold attention. It hurts, too, if any of the protagonists, so alive just minutes earlier, falls in line of duty, as it were, or just because of a silly accident. It's fast, fierce and furious tooth and claw action but still with time for humour and to reflect on life and the world around, as well as playing it's own small part of scrambling the situation.

A fast action book needs a fast talking narrator, and once again Andrew B. Werhlen teams with Mr.Bible to further bring the entire story to life. The text is read at a fast clip, the narrator's voice well modulated, paced, with understanding, to the written words. Each protagonist, male and female, is given appropriate and distinctive voice until the narrator himself seems to fade away leaving only the characters themselves in their unfolding story. Excellent performance.

A complimentary copy of this unusual S.F action thriller was freely gifted to me, at my request, by the rights holder, via Audiobook Boom. Thank you so much. I am not usually a fan of man versus dynosaur adventures but certainly make an exception with Flipside. Mr.Bible and Mr.Werhlen between them made this book simply dynamic. I loved it.

Never before have I started a book, and compared the opening chapter to receiving a brick to the face. Acronyms and terms are volleyed at you, as well as character names and shouts of "DINOSAURS!!!" I honestly felt that I had accidentally skipped to a later chapter. Its chaotic, and possibly not what the author intended (but as this is a review of the audiobook version, the fault may be that of the narrator - see notes later) Thankfully, once you are allowed to come up for air, things get a lot more focused

Flipside is what happens when you've seen Jurassic Park/World, and decide that you can do it better. We'll have a Dinosaur park, but let's throw in time travel and spider mechs. As a premise, it does actually work - but then again, I am a fan of Dinosaur films, so your mileage may vary

There are however, downsides to book
1) None of the characters stand out. They have their own motives, but its never seems to go anywhere. A prime example is one of the leads. His knees get destroyed, and he can only get around using a form of mechanical supports. A big deal of this is made in the first 2 chapters, mostly pointing out how the guy can barely walk without them - this is mostly ignored later in the book. What was the point in including that part of the plot then?

2)Dialogue is simple. If you equate this to an action film, then that would be fine. In a book however, it doesn't make me care about the characters, or help the story move along

3)The Audio version. The narrator is decent enough, however when he voices female characters, his delivery is way too fast. I had to double check I wasn't running it on a playback speed higher than 1.

The story is enjoyable, but nothing earth-shattering. Would advise reading the book, rather than listening to the audiobook. I'm still also tempted to try the sequel.

Take Jurassic Park, add in the Colonial Marines from Aliens, toss in our old enemies from the original Red Dawn, and finally add some snarky humor to the mix. That will basically give you an overview of this exciting novel. Also, if you saw the short-lived television series Terra Nova back in 2011 that will also provide some context.

The Flipside is the Earth's past, discovered in the near future when "time bubbles" began appearing in several locations worldwide. Entering these bubbles allows people to journey back 65 million years to see the untamed world ruled by the dinosaurs. Like in Terra Nova, entering the past actually has no bearing on the present, so there is no contamination of the timeline. Probably...After years of stable and predictable appearances, something goes terribly wrong. A team of ex-military corporation soldiers leave Topside, the present, to see what happened on the Flipside. Things go horribly wrong from the outset, and both the past and the present may be at risk.

What I love about Jake Bible's books is the mix of action, military, technology, and humor found in many of his books. Despite having several common elements, each of his books is fresh, unique, creative, and very fun to read. While his Z-Burbia series remains my favorite of his work, this book now holds the #3 spot. Considering he has published over 40 books, that is saying something. What is number 2? EverRealm. The Roak books too are plenty of fun, set in the distant future about a galactic bounty hunter. If you haven't read any of Jake Bible's books, this is a great one to start with!

“Lions, and Tigers, and T-Rexs, Oh MY!” Well, not Quite OZ, but this futuristic story deals with large, strange “bubbles” that appear around the world. Any of these bubbles are as large as one hundred square miles; they “turn” (flip) like clockwork, revealing prehistoric landscapes from the Cretaceous Period. Our protagonist is the former Head of Security for Topside Command Trevon Cash. More importantly, any story with a pet Ankylosaurus named Elvis can’t be all bad!

However, there is now a problem is paradise; 30 years after the first “Turn,” the predictable clockwork of the turns is breaking down as one of the world's powers has decided to exploit this phenomenon for their own gain. Cash must navigate his way through the chaos of the broken turns and take a team into Flipside to try to figure out what is happening. What Cash and the others don't know is all that waits for them is horror and nightmares.

“Flipside” offers the reader a banquet with a thrilling mix of terror and adventure. As you may expect, there are implausible situations; still, the story offers lots of fast action and many gruesome deaths by prehistoric monsters. The characterization is OK, but a little stereotypical as to types of people. However, I liked this book, but it is obviously setting up that proverbial sequel, which I will look for. If you wish to try something a little different, this may be for you.

Some spoilers. You've been warned. I enjoyed the book but I will never reread it. I was surprised at the amount of errors in it. As you will see by my review I'm not a stickler for grammar in fact I'm doing this with talk to text. I'm also not an author. Had I known this is what the book would have been like I probably wouldn't have read it. I don't regret reading it I liked it, but it's not my type of book. I enjoyed most of the characters and it was an interesting idea. There was some stuff that was confusing and could have been explained a little better, and no I'm not unintelligent haha. The dinosaur action was awesome but I wish there was more of it. If he writes a follow-up book and it's just one I will likely read it but if it ends up being 3 4 5 6 books I will likely just skip to the end of all of them as I'm not invested enough. I'd recommend it if this is the kind of thing you were interested in. Spoiler spoiler I really really wish that Olivia's wife had been dead. She annoyed me quite a few times and I would have enjoyed her being very sad over the fact that our wife died. That's probably not something most people agree on but when people annoy me I like to see them sad. I like Elvis but not anywhere near as much as a lot of people on here. All in all I enjoyed it but I wouldn't give it more than three stars.

I really enjoyed this unique, exciting take on a Jurassic Park type theme. Time travel back to the era of the dinosaurs became a possibility when rift bubbles appeared in various places in the world, forming links to the distant past. In the US, Topside Industry take “vacationers” back to prehistoric times on the flipside, but after years of stable and predictable bubbles, something goes terribly wrong and both the past and the present may be at risk. Trevon Cash is the former head of security for Topside, but when things start to crash, he rejoins the team and is sent flipside to try to figure out what is happening. This story is a wild, thrilling ride filled with predatory dinosaurs, AI technology, family dynamics, unstable landscapes, foreign powers and plenty of fast action, loss and humour. The plot easily keeps your attention and there are lots of great characters. I think my favourite was Elvis, the tame, well-trained pet Ankylosaurus that was raised topside. I loved how he always enjoyed giving Cash a hard time and their interactions always made me smile. Andrew Wehrlen did a great job narrating the audiobook, he gave each character individual voices and showed the various emotions in the story well. If you enjoy action, adventure, dinosaurs and a bit of gore, then you will love this story. I’m looking forward to seeing how things will develop in the next book.

Welcome to the Flipside. Time bubbles have sprouted across the globe and they reveal prehistoric animals and landscape within. They slowly turn from current time to prehistoric on set intervals. One imaginative entrepreneur even converted one time bubble into a Jurassic Park-type safari ride. Enter Trevon Cash former head of security for Topside Command, the entity that secures the time bubbles. An incident, outside of Cash’s control, caused Cash to claim the title “former” as he bravely took one for the team. Cash’s sister Tressa is now head of security and their father Thompson is CEO. Something goes horribly wrong and the timer that once switched consistently between current and prehistoric goes haywire. Cash is chosen to lead a team into Flipside to find out what is going on. As the team searches for answers they encounter Pterosaurs, flying reptiles they call “wingers”, huge Tyrannosaurus Rex the apex predator of the time, and many other creatures bent on having them for lunch. We follow Cash and crew as they dive in to put things right while they dodge the local wildlife. The blurb had me both intrigued and a bit worried, i figured it would either be cringe-worthy or great. Thankfully it turned out to be great.

The idea of a time bubble appearing that allows people to interact with dinosaurs is not one I've come across before. I thought the execution of the idea was well thought out and realistic (even though time bubbles aren't), the idea that someone would move to capitalize commercially is actually quite logical and realistic. It'a probably also realistic that something is going to go wrong eventually.

In some ways it reminded me of the Jurassic park movies, but there's not a lot of overlap, for the most part it's different.

There's lots of action to be found here, lots of plans, lots of Murphy situations, it was a lot like reading an action movie with better characters (who actually wear sensible clothes).

All in all, it was a really enjoyable book, including the narration. The character voices are excellent, including the AI and the delivery changes to match the changing moods and tones of the book.

I received a free copy of this book from the author and/or narrator and/or publisher and I voluntarily wrote this honest review.

Disclaimer.
I had requested and received audible version of this book for free from the narrator, in exchange for an unbiased review.

What I liked about the book -
There's nothing not worth loving in this book. First and foremost - the combination of Jake Bible and Andrew B. Wehrlen. This combo can never let you down, even if they tried. The book had me captivated starting with that dope cover. And then there's this mind-blowing story. There's dinosaurs, obviously. And there's time travel. And a lots of fast paced action that drive the narrative ahead. Both the world building and character development done extremely well, which is almost always a given with Jake Bible.

All in all, I was thoroughly entertained. Not a single minute went by when I was bored.

What I disliked about the book -
Nothing.

Narration -
Andrew B. Wehrlen. I've listened to tens of books from him and yet to be disappointed. He's one of the best in this field.

Great execution of a fantastic premise. Time travel has burbled up in select locations around the world. If you are in that location at the right time, then you will "flip" back to the age of dinosaurs. Dinos in the same locations "flip" forwards in time to join us.

And while this phenomenon provided interesting research and sightseeing opportunities, what happens when it stops working as predicted? What happens when you get stuck in the past with a bunch of hungry dinos and no idea when reinforcements will arrive?

What if the phenomenon stopped working because someone has found a way to control it to their advantage.

A nice range of characters invested in their own survival. Lots of interesting back stories.

Just a nicely told tale. This is an author to watch in the future.

I've read most of Jake's work and have liked most of them, as well. He's a capable author with a deft hand for action and a killer imagination, so picking up a dinosaur book was a no-brainer. When I did, I crossed my fingers and stared to read, hoping for some cool action adventure that would keep me entertained for a while.
With this book, Jake knocked it out of the park. No spoilers, so allow me to say that if it's action, cool gadgets, a great story line and all around fun you're looking for, this is the one for you. Quite possibly Jake's (may I call you Jake?) best book to date.

Good job, dude.

I’m so glade that the second audiobook of this mini series came out and feel into my hands because it’s a must.
Flipside is excellent but you are left with to much unanswered questions and a much need for more.
Jake Bible is an awesome writer for action fiction that’s for sure ( this is the 3rd audiobook of his that I’m reviewing, and I still got 2 more ) so I believe in what I just wrote.
About his narrator Andrew B. Wehrlen all can be said is that he is a pro ( and I got 3 more audiobooks that he narrated to review ) beside the once that I’ve already have reviewed.

I full heartedly recommend and guarantee that if you are into action fiction you’ll love this author and this mini series.

Time to jump into audiobook number 2 of the series, can’t stop.

If the dinos don't get you the climate will !!!

The storyline s very interesting. If you liked Jurassic Park you'll luv this book. How would you survive If you were stuck in the real life Jurassic Park?? When things go wrong at the place where tourists can take a trip into the past, some emloyees get stuck in the prehistoric side. This story is about how they cope as they try to find a way home. The story is well written, with fully developed characters .including a tame dino named Elvis. If you like adventure there is plenty of it. Highly recommended.
