How to make cookie dough that is fried?

The first thing you will do is make the cookie dough.

  • Beat together the butter, sugars and vanilla extract with a hand held mixer or stand up mixer in a medium bowl.
  • Once the butters, sugars and vanilla are mixed together, add in the milk and beat until combined.
  • Next, stir in the flour by hand. Add more milk at this time depending on the constituency of your cookie dough.
  • Then stir in the chocolate chips.
  • Roll the chocolate chip cookie dough into approximately 20 balls and refrigerate until you are ready to fry them. We use a cookie scoop to make it easy to make the balls.

How to Fry them

  • Heat the oil in a deep pot about 3 inches.
  • While the oil is heating up, place the pancake mix, egg, 1 cup of milk, 2 tsp vegetable oil and vanilla extract in a bowl. Stir to combine.
  • Dip each balls of cookie dough into the batter, then place in the oil.
  • Cook for 3-4 minutes per side, turning occasionally until golden brown.

  • After removing the fully cooked cookie dough from the hot oil, I place them on paper towel lined plate to soak up the grease. You will then dispose of the excess batter drip after it has cooled.
  • Place the fried cookie dough on a serving plate and top with the powdered sugar. Enjoy! We like to serve them warm to enjoy the melted chocolate chips.

Topping Ideas:

Here are some of our favorite topping ideas:

  • Once your the dough is fried you can dust with some powdered sugar.
  • Drizzle with milk chocolate or white chocolate.
  • Strawberry sauce and whipped cream would make the perfect topping.
  • You can also cover with sprinkles once the fried cookie dough has been drizzled with chocolate.

Variations:

  • If you like peanut butter, try adding some peanut butter into the cookie dough. Reduce part of the butter and mix in some peanut butter instead. We love chocolate and peanut combination and we know you will too.
  • Use different types of chocolate chips. Use white chocolate chips instead.
  • Mix in some pecans to your cookie dough. We love the extra crunch it gives.

Cooking Tips:

  • I recommend using a deep fryer when making these cookie dough. It is safer and they maintain the temperature making it easier to cook the cookie dough.
  • If you do not have a deep fryer, I would recommend using a deep saucepan. Don’t put to much oil as the oil could expand which could lead to the oil spilling.
  • Use a toothpick to insert the cookie dough into the frying pan. If you use a fork, the holes will be larger and it will cause the dough to fry.
  • You can also freeze before frying. This helps it from melting and easier to insert the toothpick.
